The reason for this is that it is extremely difficult to facilitate a sale without the assistance of a Realtor, even for an experienced and knowledgeable person. Probably the main reason for this is that almost all legitimate Buyers are working with a Realtor. To get access to the vast pool of Buyers, a prudent seller must list with a Realtor. Statistics show that the average selling price of homes sold through real estate average 9% higher than homes sold privately.
